I saw like one person mention it, so I want to mention it too. Have you tried programming? If you haven’t, go to freecodecamp.org and try one of the first couple of courses. It’s what I’m going to peruse after 13 years of a meh job.
Honestly, don’t worry about that. It’s more worth it to go to school and do something you want, even if it takes longer, because you’ll save time and money in the long run.
You sound like me when I started uni. I actually just picked something I thought I was good at. It took me 8 years and a mountain of debt to graduate (I don’t suggest this route). Now, after 13 years in this profession, I’m trying to do something different.
It might help to hear what you’ve studied so far, as well as your interests, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
Could it be our weakness to act that is encouraging more genocides?
I was out in the garden when a dude waked by. One of us waved, I don’t remember which, and the other waved back, sort of neighborly one hand up for a second wave. By the time he crosses the bush, he has turned back to cross my (luckily fairly large) yard, walking towards me. I run inside, and lock the door and yell at my SO to come downstairs there was a scary man at the door. SO confronts the man while I hide. Dude makes up a story about how someone yelled at him from our balcony, and he thought it was his friend. SO says he doesn’t believe him, and he better not show his face around here again if he wants to make it home alive.
I’ve been told (by a zoomer) all the zoomer love for the series is ironic. Do you think that’s true?
It depends on how harmful that opinion is. You prefer vanilla ice cream because you like the mild flavor - cool, difference of opinion. You prefer there were no same-sex marriages because your religion is against it - no, that affects other people’s lives so if you want me to respect that opinion you would have to have a good argument.
So, a sonic screwdriver?
I was thinking the same thing. I mean, I just did a coding test for a potential job, and I know I did at least as good as, and likely better than this.
edit: just to prove to myself, I went ahead and wrote the program without looking things up. I’m self-taught so I feel pretty proud. It took about 25 mins, and it works!
Tell me this is a real life newspaper.
Well, they don’t show up in the app I use (except when I post or comment and I see mine).
More proof it’s more punishment than concern for the baby. To them, sex is a sin unless for procreation and your punishment for having sex for fun or while poor (or sexually assaulted) is that you have to bear the burden because you sinned. They can’t handle their own sexual shit because it’s not allowed to be talked about, so they make us all deal with it. She doesn’t want to have her 3rd baby, but she’s a good Christian woman who can’t say no to her husband, so she has to have it, and she wants other women to have to have it too. The fawning over babies and speaking to the “sacredness of life” is the facade they wear because it sounds more “Christian”.
Oh that and, male power over women’s bodies. Because, you never know, that mystery pregnancy you got after the club might just be Jesus! Zeus came as coins ffs, so God may appear to the new Mary as rohypnol. Who knows?
Small body count, bullied white male - it’s too boring.
They will say “Just slander perpetrated by the opposite side!”
They will say, “But what about Hillary’s husband!”
They will say anything but, “No!” to Trump
pat pat
Okay, you keep telling yourself that, bud.
Joined today. Troll account.
That’s not our job in an argument tho. You make a claim, people asked you to show evidence - now it’s your turn to to your part of the debate and show what it is that made you so sure that this was true.
Did I miss it? Was there a reason given or is it just the new “conservative coalition” doesn’t like it?
Thanks, you were the only one to tell me! 07 fellow leftist.
And If you don’t mind, I’d like to take a moment to try to start a new tradition:
Each year on your Fediverse cake day, in response to the first person who wishes you happy cake day, you must tell the story of how you came to be here in the Fediverse. Here is mine:
This is my first Cake Day as I started a year ago when I joined Lemmy.world and Kbin and Mastodon all at the same time. I left from Reddit after the AMA with u/spez. I knew at that point he wasn’t relenting on the third-party apps and the loss of access for me personally, but mostly for the deaf and blind community, showed me that the CEO had no intention of putting accessibility over profit. I was an Apollo user and I was looking for an alternative while also browsing Reddit - using them as a resource, as I always had - and I was seeing censorship abound. Reddit was blocking mentions of alternative sites, blocking discussion about Spez, and the subs were rising up. I used those last few months of Apollo to help with the protests (John Oliver in /pics) and watched the proletariat attack the bourgeoisie for the rights of the people.
Then I started going full fediverse, posting Pokémon Cards on Kbin in a lovely group with three people in which I hope to return to some day when life settles. But Lemmy had the quantity and quality I was looking for. I joined .world at first because I didn’t know what was best, but switched to Midwest.social when .world blocked Hexbear. Went from pc to phone when the apps came out. Went from Memmy to Thunder because Thunder supported Hexbears stickers! And here I am, one year later!
