““the WEST!””
Yeah but that can be determined just by account age and number of posts, not by the public reception of those posts.
So far I’ve seen lots of discussion in AskLemmy and plenty of memes in 196 or 195
Nope, I’m seeing discussions unrelated to Reddit every time I’m on here. And there’s often more comments than I care to read! The main hurdle for me is the long load times and the inconsistency of the buttons.
But remember!
There’s never going to be a perfect alternative. No Reddit alternative is going to function the same as a massive 18 year old site from Day 1. It takes some time, some stress tests, some development, and some dedication. Just remember the shit they pulled to bring us here.
Half? Yeah right! Even if they were half the nation - which they aren’t - it’s gonna be like 90% in some areas and 10% in others.
i cant remember the last time i saw anyone do ASL that wasnt in their 30s+ now
American Internet MLs when someone defends colonization by criticizing the prior systems of the colonized people: "Let colonized people dedcide their own fate! >:( "
American Internet MLs when someone criticizes China’s colonization of Tibet: “[5000 characters criticizing prior systems in Tibet]”
I just want some consistency. Why is it liberation when China does it to Tibet but colonization when America does it to Afghanistan/South America/everywhere else? Fuck em both bro
Also have you ever noticed that criticisms of Tibet’s former systems always rely on the secondary source of The Timely Rain, an account written by foreign travelers in Tibet? (Or, as MLs might call someone who travels to Asia to do this today, written by “colonizers”?) Why is that perspective okay with you, enough to justify China’s actions?
