He really is/was smart about some things - marketing and self-promotion. He started with millions and ended up with hundreds of billions, all thanks to his marketing skills, and knowing how to be in the right place at the right time.
Being good at one thing doesn’t automatically mean he’s good at other things - like running a company, or being an engineer as he likes to imagine himself.
I think Meta is doing a decent job with Instagram. I mean except for collecting all possible data and psychological profiling of users to serve them targeted ads, it’s a decent enough platform. And the only one still allowing for engagement with your actual friends rather than exclusively professional content creators.

I wouldn’t say he’s a source of information at all. His videos are opinion pieces. As far as I’ve noticed he rarely gives any hard numbers, or claims to know things outside of the mainstream news.

I used to be what Americans call libertarian. Capitalism and free market ftw. I thought it would lead to a freer society.
At some point I understood that the consequences of capitalism lead away from what is actually my real goal - maximizing the liberty of each individual. If someone is afraid if they can afford food and housing they can’t really be free.
Now I support certain types of socialist policies with the same goal.
Same dress code, standards and rules absolutely - regardless if competition is split or not.
Same competition definitely for some sports - chess and shooting come to mind.
More physical sports - I’m undecided there. I’d support everyone competing together if for example weight categories are introduced. You don’t want people of widely different physical build competing together, it’s not fun either to watch or play.
People speculating in real estate are doing so for passive income
You severely underestimate the role of real state in the current economy. Banks, investment funds, pension funds, real estate agencies, insurance … Individuals looking for passive income are just a part of it.
Especially in North America, Europe and China (but true everywhere generally) real estate speculation takes a huge chunk of investment money of both individuals and companies.

Reducing home prices requires destroying an entire branch of economy - real estate investment. Mind you not construction but owning property as an investment. It would noticeably drop the GDP and any other economic statistic as well as leave a bunch of people without jobs.
I guess in the mind of most politicians it’s not an acceptable course of action, even though avoiding it makes things worse in the long term.
Crack is one of the drugs I would never try due to the so many bad outcomes. Meth, heroin, fentanyl, and other opiates are also on my NO list.
Is it any similar to cocaine? I did try that and … it’s ok. But I didn’t get that wow feeling that coke fans swear on.

How I dealt with it? Understanding myself, mechanisms of social pressure, and the wrong motives I had for wanting to have a girlfriend.
It was always about proving something to others, rather than actually finding a life partner. Everyone around me constantly pestered me to find a gf, friends, family … All the media celebrates certain kinds of romantic relationships. I thought I’m worthless if I don’t do it as well.
Changing that mindset transformed me - I don’t have to put myself in situations I’m uncomfortable with, and I don’t have to pursue types of relationships defined by others.
Depends on what you define as a religion. Violently forcing beliefs onto others - yes we would definitely be better off without that. Hierarchical structures of power - also yes.
Trying to explain the universe around us by anthropomorphizing natural phenomena? I’m not so sure. It could be seen as useful in the sense of philosophical exploration.
