I just hope they keep the real world power usage down. I currently have a 5800x3d and if I can’t find a good mobo I might just upgrade to this if it performs well and doesn’t consume 120 watts at all times.

Mad? No. Unhappy? Yes. If I don’t want the food I’m not going to eat the food. I don’t want people to waste their money on something I don’t want.
Even if it’s not my money I don’t like unnecessary spending.
Gift cards are intentionally earmarked for a specific purpose.
For a specific purpose at a specific vendor. And that’s why I hate gift cards. What if I want to go out to eat at a nice restaurant, but not the one they gave me the gift card for? Now you can’t go to the place you wanted to go to.
Or what if I want to buy something online, and it’s 50% off at vendor A but full price at vendor B and the gift card is for vendor B? Now your stick between paying for the item like normal, or wasting money getting it from the place that takes your gift card.
It would be cheaper than your current option, and provide you much more software freedom, including system wide ad blocking, Firefox with uBlock Origin, LibreTube, the ability to run AI models offline with more than 4GB RAM, the ability to run custom launchers, home apps and SMS apps, and ability to install apps without logging into a megacorporation.
What if you don’t care about any of those?
Is that just to work out your core muscles? Because these easier ways to work them out.
Plus if something has been ignored for so long that it basically needs a full rewrite of some aspect then even if you have the skills to do it, you can’t realistically do it because it’s such a big problem.
This isn’t new. They’ve dropped cybertrucks before, and they’re not the only company to drop/straight up refuse to take them.

You can be the enemy of the advertisers and they will do everything in their power to destroy you. Or you can not entirely piss them off and actually continue to exist and try to do as much good as you can.
You can just look at what addresses from that range have left the network in any given 24 hour window.
If AAAA is constantly reaching our to aussie.zone one day, and the next day AAAB is reaching out to that address you can pretty easily connect the dots.
We turn it off in our office. It doesn’t benefit us.
You could also make the argument that ipv4 through NAT is better for privacy since it obfuscate what, and how many devices are connected to where.
You’ve always been able to do that. Settings > messages > text message forwarding
Everyone has to be RCS.
It’s like imesssge but with non iOS devices
You can also get big power consumption from turning up the voltage and cranking the clock speeds well past their efficient zone. You see that right now with most 40 series cards where turning the clock speeds down a smidge gives you huge power savings at almost no loss in performance.
Cost per MM^2 of die space has only gone up with each process node these last 10 years, so unless you’re paying big money don’t expect big chip.
IDK if it’s the inner hispanic in me. But man do I love mowing lawns.
You wouldn’t happen to be from Ohio?
The 5080 is rumored to be 10% faster, but also use 90% the power. While performance has a normal generational leap, power consumption has gone up to match leaving you with a much smaller actual improvement.
It’s at least the same inconsistent toolset as everyone else. Windows 10? Ok go through this multi step process. 11? Ok this other slightly different process.
VS Linux you have 700 consistent toolsets, and 70000000 inconsistent toolsets.
Chromebooks never really made sense outside of schools and old people.
The OS is hyper limited to essentially just a web browser, and android apps (so just a web browser). Nobody wants to buy premium hardware to use with just Chrome. But at the same time it’s Chrome, so you really need at least a good chunk of RAM. So it really just limits you to the super light use cases, but those could realistically be replaced by a tablet.
The other day we saw an extremely odd device at malwart. They had a $270 laptop/tablet hybrid thing with a fairly nice OLED display, and a snapdragon CPU that should have been more that sufficient. But 128gb of EMMC storage, and 4 gigs of ram. Such wasted potential. It would make a nice RDP machine I guess.
That’s how most things are in tech. Why reinvent the wheel when someone’s already made it?
I personally love trying to break into any device running android and install our companies web crawler onto it. I almost got it working on my DJI drone remote. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to get into these Logitech Tap Scheduler things.
