You admit that corporations are always greedy, so how is out of the realm of possibility that an excuse like supply chain issues (which have since been resolved) would provide the perfect opportunity for these greedy corporations to jack up prices far beyond those underlying causes and get away with it?

I’m not saying “both sides”, Israel is absolutely worse than Hamas. Israel was founded by terrorists and honors them by naming streets and buildings after them. Israel has been an ethnic cleansing project from the start and has used acts of terrorism to accomplish their goals all along the way. They’ve most recently ripped their masks off and are committing full-on genocide now, in a manner so flagrant that many who were ignorant to the horrors perpetuated by Israel can see it now.

The greed is constant, but the opportunities to excuse price increases are not. Egg prices jumped up about 6x because they had the excuse of bird flu, but the prices magically went down (but stayed elevated) after the government threatened an investigation. As ineffectual as our government has been made, increasing prices out of nowhere with no plausible excuses will invite an investigation.

I know that Russia has threatened the use of nukes, but I find it hard to believe they’d actually follow through. Seems like a red line that would activate more direct action from lots of other countries against Russia. Then again, red lines have been made pretty flexible in the past, including recently.

Interesting timing on this article given how EVs are really starting to grow in a large way. Reminds me of the articles a few months back about how demand for EVs wasn’t “as high as expected” (who is setting these expectations?) even though demand is still growing at breakneck pace. Sounds to me like dinosaurs trying to throttle the growth of EVs so they can keep up sales of internal combustion vehicles, to which I say that maybe they should’ve invested more into the EV space to reap the rewards instead of dragging their heels at every opportunity. Not to mention the human rights abuses and wars fought to keep the internal combustion vehicle industry going.
