I think there are a few unchecked bots that do that. Every once in a while I’ll make a post or comment and it goes to 0 immediately.

I watched The Wire way too late in life. I watched it last year and my wife couldn’t get into it because of the old technology, but fuuuuuck was it good.
And then once you finish it, you can watch Breaking Bad again. Then El Camino. Then loop back around the Better Call Saul again. And once you’re done, you can watch Breaking Bad again…
The thing that’s so great about Mr. Robot is that it ends perfectly. You can tell the show writers decided exactly what story they wanted to tell and then executed on that plan. They didn’t just meander about and eventually land on a half-assed ending once the show’s budget dried up.
Can’t be seen in public without his slutty little heels.
The drone operators video in the article explicitly calls out the commander for being corrupt, misreporting the situation on the ground, having Western contacts that he’s working with, and being involved in narco-trafficking.
I feel bad for the drone operator who was sent to his death for a shitty cause, but if the Russian commanders are like that, that’s a win for the good guys in my book.
Yeah you’re right. I stuck to the old askreddit rule of not adding clarifying text and put it in my comment instead. That kind of gets buried though. My bad.
“Hey boss, we took the fish out of our fish sticks like you asked.”
“Great job, Johnson. Slap a “Great new taste” sticker on it and call it a day.”
I think it’s different enough from shrinkflation that it needs its own name. My gripe specifically was with Naked Juice, where if it was just being sold in a smaller bottle, I would buy more. But the recipe has actually changed to a point where I don’t want to drink it at all now, because it’s just not the same.
From an article linked above, my emphasis added, this is different because consumers are less able to protect themselves from it by being informed:
“We have long observed shrinkflation and bad value for money maxi packs,” Laura Clays, spokesperson for consumer protection organisation Test Achats, told The Brussels Times. “However, these tactics were mainly dubious from a financial point of view. This is still unacceptable, but consumers were able to protect themselves by keeping an eye on the price per unit.”
She stressed that in the case of “cheapflation”, the consumer is left more or less powerless. “This tactic is really about what people are ingesting, which is even more sneaky. While this will likely not have major health effects, eating less fishy fish sticks is definitely not a healthier meal option, so that’s not ideal.”
“Cheapflation” sounds exactly like what I was thinking of. https://www.brusselstimes.com/1021212/not-so-fishy-fish-sticks-what-is-cheapflation-and-what-to-pay-attention-to
In Albert Heijn’s fish sticks, the fish content dropped from 75% to 55%.
Eeewwww
The reason I ask, is I noticed that Naked brand Strawberry Banana drinks now taste like regular juice, instead of having a thick smoothie taste. They used to advertise that each small bottle contained 22 strawberries, also listing the primary ingredient as strawberry puree. They now say each bottle is 6 and 3/4 strawberries, with the primary ingredient being apple juice. Strawberry puree is now listed as the 3rd ingredient.
Is there a term for when a manufacturer changes ingredients so drastically that it just ruins the original product? I’ve heard “enshitification” before, but always associated that with tech.
In before someone says Naked is all sugar and isn’t worth drinking in the first place.
He may have fooled the rest of the country with his finely tuned ‘Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat!’ act, but ‘Holy buckets!’ is who he really is.
Dammit, I actually say “Holy buckets” all the time. Years of parenting has engrained it into me.
I was hoping to find a video of the performance, since maybe it gave off more Last Supper vibes than a still photo. But I’ll be damned, there’s not a video of it anywhere. Just lots of videos of people complaining about it.
I imagine they’d have to flush out all the exact scenarios, the biggest problem being the existing justices. I’d imagine you’d have to do something like this, assuming the bill took place immediately.
Honestly, looking at it written out it seems really good. Obviously the older court members are the ones that will have stuck around longer than the 18 years. Under the schedule, Gorsuch is the only one who doesn’t get the full 18 years, which is fitting since he is the only pick for the court that is truly illegitimate.
I think if there was a death or someone had to step down, you’d want the current president to appoint someone to fill the remainder of their term, rather than starting the clock all over again at 18 years. That would prevent retiring early to game the system.
Yeah, at the proposed rate the court would be comprised of:
So you’d have a 6-3 liberal leaning court. Which makes sense since Democrats have held the presidency for 12 of the last 18 years.
Can we just step back for a minute and look at the big picture here? We’re at a point where passing an amendment that says “the president cannot commit crimes” is seen as something that has no chance in passing, because one party is dedicated to protecting a criminal. The founders would be ashamed of us.
Hmm the only Lexus EVs I see sold around me only have 220 miles of range.
Sweet, I’ve been thinking about getting another EV. Which one is it in? I’ve got some time to go do test drives this weekend.
Coincidentally, 2019 is when they got a new CEO, laid off almost all the corporate personnel and moved from Denver to Newport Beach. Weird that decapitating the company would have an effect on it…
I was in the pool!
