I don’t mind paying $10/mo for access to millions of songs on demand, even if the caveat is that I don’t own anything at the end of my subscription.
I understand costs have gone up, so I can accept a $1 increase in subscription. The problem is that Spotify wants to do a bunch of side projects at my expense. I have no interest in podcasts or audiobooks yet I must fork up the extra money to fund it. I have no say in what my money is being used for and I hate that.
It’s why I moved from it to Tidal and then to Apple Music (even though I’m on Android). Both have their own issues but at least they’re focused on music.
Yeah I collect all the free games that Epic gives out, plus other random freebies and game bundles.
Will I go through all 1500 in my lifetime? Absolutely not.
Which game(s) are you currently playing?
How big is that backlog?
Mine crossed 1500 recently 😅

Would’ve appreciated it yesterday when I went grocery shopping.
Noticed a few weeks ago they raised prices by 40-50 cents on certain items, then “discount” them by 10-25 cents to make them seem cheaper.
I have a list on my notes app with prices per pound/oz. You can’t fool me, Aldi.
HP Touchpad from 2011 that was given to me.
I try not to hoard stuff in case I ever need to relocate, so my list of owned items isn’t big. I would love to collect retro consoles otherwise.
Sync for Lemmy
Sync was my go-to Reddit app for nearly 9 years.
It does have ads, but with a one time purchase you can get rid of them. I’ve paid that and then I also plan on getting the subscription in the future for additional features.
The price is definitely a bit on the higher side, but I’m happy to support the development of the app I left Reddit for.
If you are able to, please support the apps and Lemmy instances you use.
We had guests over, and they made homemade perogies.
They were great.
Ah I wasn’t aware which script it was. It’s just one of the emoticons available in Sync for Lemmy.
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Haven’t felt the need to use them as often. Emojis and “lol haha” work fine for me.
Kinda? Maybe not explicitly toxicity, but some passive aggressiveness.
I’ve grown pretty accustomed to stuff like that – you get used to it after spending so many years on open forums.
I used to try to “clap back” but I realized that’s a waste of time and it doesn’t help whatever situation the person on the other side might be going through. I now tend to just move on and keep myself busy with something else.
Visited a CeX store.
Their locked, employee-only Wi-Fi: Protected CeX
Their open public WiFi: Unprotected CeX
Oooooh this is neat. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing, and thanks to the dev for porting it to Lemmy ❤️ 💚
Greatly appreciate everyone’s efforts.
Currently on the left-most side of the couch. If I teleport 2 feet to the left, I’d immediately fall onto the floor.
I have Call Screen on my Pixel 6a doing a lot of heavy lifting for me.
I really wish there was a non-Google version of it that everyone could download and use.
Is this just diversifying for the sake of diversifying – to convince people to maintain their subscriptions, or is there something larger at play?
Like the article said, Netflix has been investing in gaming as well. They have a small but decent lineup.
What’s in it for Netflix and YouTube? Can’t imagine there’s much info to collect for ad purposes.
1-2 yes
3-4 no (or at least, not yet)
Has it been a perfect migration? No.
There are a ton of quirks that need to be worked out, but I’m still betting on the Fediverse because of its openness and philosophy.
Some hotel elevators have it.
But yeah, I don’t recall the last time I heard music in a residential elevator.
The simple reason is because I got a lengthy free trial for it (saving me money on the Tidal sub) and then stuck around.
Apple Music was hot garbage when I started using it but over the months of my trial it improved tremendously - to a point where there isn’t much difference between it and Tidal. App performance is good now, it provides song recommendations for your playlists, many bugs I was facing have been fixed.
The Android Auto experience is better for me compared to Tidal, it has Shazam integration (Spotify does too, Tidal doesn’t) and it has many of the Japanese city pop songs I like that Tidal was missing.
I can always jump ship if needed. Services like Soundiiz and TuneMyMusic make it pretty easy.
