The boxed sets are great gifts. The pie and baking boxes are good for the holiday season pastries and whatnot, but the general cooking/grilling box sets are very good gifts for people who do those kinds of cooking. I use a lot of their herbs and the granulated garlic (both roasted and plain), but my favorite blends are Northwoods, Greek, and the Creamy Peppercorn (it’s listed as a dressing/dip mix, but I use it as the seasoning for pork chops).
Not even a sip for me. I was offered small amounts of champagne or wine at special occasions, but I never drank any because I could smell the alcohol on it and didn’t want to.

Nope. The first time I drank any alcohol ever was on my 21st birthday. My Dad made me a gin and tonic with Bombay Sapphire, and that set the standard for the kind of alcohol I will drink. It’s a good thing I’m a lightweight because I only drink the expensive stuff. (The cheap crap burns too much.)
I’ve tried to drink coffee a couple times. I never was successful at it. My body just hates something in coffee and it just comes right back up before even hitting my stomach. So, I guess it’s gone down my esophagus, but never further than that.
I end up going to the ER way more than I want to. It’s really annoying; if you walk into an urgent care or a regular doctor’s office (besides my regular care providers, they’re used to me now) and say you think you have a kidney infection or other kidney problems and you just need antibiotics, they just go “NOPE” and yeet you out the door to go to the ER. So far, I have been successful in preventing them from calling an ambulance for me.
Never have I ever drank alcohol illegally or underage.

The medical symbol of the staff with the snake is only supposed to have 1 (one) snake on it. A staff with 1 snake is the Rod of Asclepius (the son of Apollo and Greek demigod of medicine), a staff with 2 snakes is a Caduceus which is carried by Hermes as a messenger or herald.
Physicians get 1 snake. Couriers and heralds get 2 snakes. Any medical professional or organization that uses 2 snakes is wrong and needs to go study the humanities and classics for a bit.
As a Minnesotan, I’m disappointed to be losing our governor. He’s done great things for our state, but I’m hopeful that the Lt. Governor who will be taking his place will be a good replacement.
Walz’s ascension to the ticket leaves questions for Minnesota. Under the state Constitution, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan would become governor if Walz resigns, but he’s not on the ballot in Minnesota this fall, meaning he could wait until after the November election to step down. Flanagan, a member of the White Earth Nation, would become Minnesota’s first woman and first Native American governor.

I’ve heard the neonatologists say that they make the parents repeat back, write down, and sign a consent form that says “I understand that refusing the vitamin K shot significantly increases the chances of bleeding, including brain bleeds that can lead to significant disability or death.”
Not many people seem to want to sign that form for some reason.

4 years of medical school and a few years of residency (and maybe fellowship) in pathology. So you’re talking 12 to 16 years of post-high school education because it’s becoming more and more common to have to have a post-bacc or a master’s to get into medical school in the first place.
This is my plan. I have to finish medical school anyways, and once I’ve done that, I’ll be in a better position to help other people.
Not everyone can drive. Many households only have one car between multiple adults. Some can’t afford childcare and rely on nearby relatives to help out, and would have to start paying for childcare if they moved. Some people don’t have the education or job training that would allow them to get a job worth commuting to. Some people are reliant on social services or medical care that is not available otherwise. Many of the suburbs around American cities are just as expensive as the cities themselves but without walkable areas, nearby shops, or any public transportation.
This is just a handful of examples and it barely scratches the surface of the more complicated issues at hand here

Adoption is not the silver bullet people seem to think it is. If the baby isn’t white, or has health problems, there’s a much higher chance they’ll end up in the foster care system.
Separately, carrying a pregnancy and giving birth are extremely dangerous. Depending on which state you look at, American women face the highest maternal death rate in the developed world. Also, the leading cause of death of pregnant women in America is intimate partner homicide, and intimate partner violence frequently escalates during pregnancy. How does adoption fix those problems?
MRI sometimes uses a non-radioactive contrast depending on what you’re trying to get images of. MRI is probably the safest imaging modality, but it’s very expensive, kind of difficult sometimes due to how long it takes, and isn’t useful for every kind of imaging that needs to be done.
