I saw that too. Does that mean Masino made the 5 pt plan, announced it and then bounced to Taco Bell?
Or is this just shitty writing and lazy editing?

Took a job recently after being unemployed for a while. Three days in the office, but only 15 minute commute. Nobody from my team in the city, and nobody I will ever need to work with works in this office. I have almost nothing to do so I’ve been filling my days doing training on our products. My floor has probably 100 or so cubes with about 20-25 people on on any given day on the whole floor. I sit in a wing of a building with 4 cubes and mine’s the only one in use. I go pretty much the whole day without seeing or speaking to another individual.
At least when I worked from home I had my dogs to keep me company. Now i just get in, counting the minutes until I hit 8 hours and leave asap. I’m seriously considering resigning because I’m going nuts.
RTO sucks.
Yeah, but the non-tech savvy business leaders see they can generate code with AI and think ‘why do I need a developer if I have this AI?’ and have no idea whether the code it produces is right or not. This stat should be shared broadly so leaders don’t overestimate the capability and fire people they will desperately need.
Thr problem the AI tools are going to have is that they will have tons of things like this that they won’t catch and be able to fix. Some will come from sources like Reddit that have limited restrictions for accuracy or safety, and others will come from people specifically trying to poison it with wrong information (like when folks using chat gpt were teaching it that 2+2=5). Fixing only the ones that get media attention is a losing battle. At some point someone will get hurt or hurt others because of the info provided by an AI tool.
He only owned up to it because the LA Prosecutor says they can’t prosecute him for it.
He works for a marketing and web design firm. So the guy who designed their graphics is gone and they are using AI tools. Imagine paying for a firm to build you web and marketing materials only to have someone just use an AI.
Why bother paying the marketing firm at all?
I wrote a paper on the whole reddit 3rd party app fiasco and because of the accessibility issues being raised I spent some time reading through r/blind and r/deaf. I didn’t find it in the blind community but the deaf community seemed to have very strong opinions about medical interventions to restore hearing, and a lot were vehemently against it in all cases.
I think technology like this will be a contentious issue for them.
I don’t get why companies pull such shady crap to get behavior data. 99% of it is useless and never even is used to make improvements to products or processes.
For real. If ever there were a time to hop on an Amtrak, I think this would be a good one.
They cut thousands of jobs in the name of efficiency, then roll out an AI customer service bot to replace people in managing problems with their flashy new AI tool that is glitching out, more expensive and delivering worse results.
Surely nobody saw this coming right?
Whenever I think of the good old days of the internet (like 2000-2009) I think of using stumbleupon and finding the best and most random stuff.
Well my understanding is that he was an executive producer on the film, which is a leadership position that impacts decisions on hiring staff like armory/weapons consultants.
As an actor he’s probably not responsible but as EP he is .
The one thing where I agree with cable companies about is the risk to consumers accidentally canceling all or multiple services when they intend to just cancel one. It will be hard to explain that a package price will no longer apply if one part of the package is canceled.
However- it can be addressed with a well-designed cancelation instruction screen. This is a constraint to the communication and process design; it is not an insurmountable barrier like the cable companies are suggesting.
I’m concerned too that if another more “moderate” candidate is placed on the gop side in enough states, people lukewarm on Biden could be persuaded to vote red when they would have voted for Biden in a Trump matchup. I’m sure that there are political types doing this math. I’m not sure Biden has the pull to get the win.
So if Boeing is such a mess that they are grouding their planes, why are their other planes still okay? The problems seem to be about how Boeing operates and aren’t limited to one or two planes so it seems reasonable to think that others are being handled the same way. Why should we assume that other Boeing planes are safe?
Maybe for companies that aren’t selling tools for digital artists, but WACOM is literally trying to sell a product that humans use to create these images. To usurp the their customer base and buy an AI image (even unintentionally) shows at best a complete lack of understanding about what kind of art is being made with their tablets and at worst a disregard for a major concern of their customer base.
I know it’s not the point of the article but I need to express my annoyance at the fact that Christopher Nolan is encouraging dvd/bluray purchase so much. He explicitly designs shitty sound in his films supposedly to make them sound better for the theater (i question his success in that effort) and then doesn’t adjust it for the bluray. So even then at home you have to adjust the sound up and down to hear the dialogue while not getting your eardrums blasted out by the action sequences.
Ok rant over. Otherwise I agree wholeheartedly, don’t trust streaming services to keep your movies for you. Bluray is the way.
they don’t even call it VR but spatial computing instead.
Ugh. Apple marketing with their need to create words for existing tech is just so damned pretentious.
Just knowing there are people out there who do these things gives me anxiety on their behalf. WHY WOULD SOMEONE DO THAT
Omg that photo is fantastic
