Amazing, thanks for your work!
Amazing, thanks for your work!
you mean without a dynamic hostname in between? but then you would still need to know about a changed prefix, wouldn’t you?
I assume you have a dynamic ip. what I did for that scenario: setup a dyndns hostname somewhere, configure a subdomain (e.g. jellyfin.example.com) with a cname dns record pointing to the dyndns hostname. you will have to setup updating of the dyndns hostname, this can be done in the fritz box and port forwarding to your jellyfin pc.
I have my music organized by artist and (mostly) album subfolders. My music is also tagged and that’s what really matters most to me in terms of Navidrome.
Did you know about !navidrome@discuss.tchncs.de , btw?
Yeah, I got it with their Kubuntu version TuxedoOS and I’m pretty happy with it.
I had a Macbook Pro before and it’s company hardware, so price wasn’t a concern for me, but I understand my privilege there…
Tuxedo InfinityBook and quite happy. It has great specs and looks good. It tends to get quite warm, but I’m not too bothered by that…
Funkwhale is very nice as well, but it’s not as easy to administrate - I have been running an older version for quite some time and didn’t succeed in updating to a newer version. Also, it supports some features (like federation) that I don’t need. So Navidrome is just a better fit for me…
Long time mac user with some linux experience on the server side. Also had Manjaro running for some time in the past. Ditched mac recently and now using a vendor customized KUbuntu distribution (TuxedoOS). Quite happy so far!
Agree it sounds like a push for users to use snap more, but at the same time the “plan” doesn’t sound bad in it’s entirety - depending on how they design the installer experience. I could think of preselected profiles (like office, graphics, …) that install an (adjustable) set of applications upon install. They could be downloaded on-demand while installing the system.
i like fruit, so I have kiwi, mango, …
