those contracts take years to tender and likely have huge clawback clauses. I doubt that Labour got into power and immediately signed contracts for things like this. More likely it was more expensive to stop it.

geo engineering is a stopgap solution. it enables the continuation of fossil fuel burning, and rampant over consumption. it does nothing to prevent ecosystem collapse in our oceans, decline of breathable air or extinction of native species.

labour can only win the next election if people who vote tory change their minds and vote labour instead.

it’s an easy win for the tories if they can say “labour will immediately let millions of foreigners into our country to work and stay and marry”
