  • This is my first exposure to this idea and it’s quite compelling. Couple that with the perceived tone being argumentative instead of inquisitive or ignorant and that’s a recipe for disaster.

The fact the algorithms only care about engagement, positive or negative, means rage bait takes over too so that doesn’t help the perception that a question is actually an attack.

  • Very cool! This sort of tech will only really feel right if you’re waking straight ahead at a steady pace though. As soon as you change directions or otherwise accelerate it won’t feel right because you don’t have to deal with any of the momentum that you normally do.

I like the idea of it being used on inanimate objects for other purposes though. Could this be coupled with the volume to move some props in a way to really sell paralax or movement when viewed in camera? The SFX uses are probably many.

  • Mormons still practise polygamy sort of. They have “sealings” which is marriage forever, not just “'til death do us part”. If a widow is to remarry, she needs to break the sealing to her dead spouse if she wishes to be sealed to get new one (or she could stay sealed to her first spouse and only marry the second until death).

A widower, however, doesn’t need to break the previous sealing. He can be sealed to multiple women no problem. Essentially polygamy, but only in the afterlife.
