Honestly this one is one of the top because there’s a wide variety of questions that are genuinely interesting. Compared to a rotating daily question type with rotating predictable responses
I agree to be fair, I mean from what I’ve seen so far everything is genuinely interesting compared to the type of stuff you’d get on the likes of Reddit.
“Sexiest females of Reddit: What is the sexiest sex you’ve ever sexed?” God I hated those questions.
Then you would sort by new and every other question is worded the same way.
Honestly? Still haven’t found one.
The communities I’ve found are all fine, but I haven’t found any that are a tailor match for me. Every one so far has either been not quite my cup or a ghost town.
I’m mostly sticking to All and interacting with posts I like as I see them, with no real care given to what community they are from. Individual communities don’t have much for me, but all of Lemmy combined holds my interest decently well.
Fair enough, my thoughts are that as Lemmy gains more users and gets more features more and more content will be suited to more and more people.
Hopefully that made sense
Tbh I want places that don’t agree with me practically 100% of the time. I feel like there’s not much room for discourse here… be it about politics, religion, opinions about art/games, whatever
Maybe I’m just in the wrong communities, or the wrong instance. Because it is there, but it’s a lot harder to find than on Reddit
There’s definitely an interesting demographic around here. I’ve been dog piled by tankies who don’t like my opinion, but it’s to be expected. I don’t mind it. As long as my comments aren’t deleted, I can take the downvotes.
Much like on reddit, I love !SuperbOwl@lemmy.world
Love that one! The amount of toilets in places they should not be is terrifying. Combined bathrooms/kitchens… why…
The amount of carpet in wet locations 🤢
Ok, this is my new favorite community
I’ve gotten a lot of joy out of !webcomics@lemmy.ml and !comics@lemmy.ml
Also !thefarside@sh.itjust.works and !calvinandhobbes@lemmy.world
Meant to include that one too. Thanks!
Risa by far
The Risa community seems by far one of the more participatory ones and their meme game is strong. But I am slowly seeing engagement go up on other subs. I’m patient.
Communities*
Ah, so !grammarnazis@lemm.ee
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !pixaraimemes@lemmy.ml
I don’t know if anyone monitors this bot, but is there a way to get a similarly generic link to a specific post?
There currently is no way. Though many front-ends do it automatically, including mlmym (old lemmy), voyager, and alexandrite.
Hmmm, lemdro.id hosts all of them and I tried them out but whenever I copy a post link it gives a link from the hosting instance.
It still appears to be a link to the original instance, but when you click it, it gets rewritten to be your instance.
Ah, so on the viewing end, not the posting end?
Yes, exactly. Otherwise it would only work for the poster and not all the viewers.
You’ll have to use an app like Sync or Jerboa for that
omg that is amazing lol
Shoutout to mander.xyz!
Big fan of !rpgmemes@ttrpg.network
An artist was posting a daily comic there for a while, which was the highlight of my Lemmy day.
AskLemmy. Blows my mind how great it is for crowdsourcing questions
here for the shitposting, am stuffed
And the funny part to me is that they are all high quality posts lol
This is a shameless plug (okay, there’s a little bit of shame) for a community I moderate. But I’m actually really happy that !hockey@lemmy.ca is started to get a decent number of posters that aren’t me!
Enjoy browsing Risa. Content is good and the people are also chill.
I’m at the point where I’m considering watching the show just to understand half of my everything feed.
My child, follow the path that the Prophets laid out for you.
From TOS?
My child, how have you strayed from the path the prophets of Bajor laid out for you? You should visit Deep Space 9 to visit their temple.
Definitely give star trek TNG and/ or Voyager a try. I find watching these shows relaxing at the end of a difficult day.
ARRROOOOO!
