It’s nice to read about them actually acting on warnings and stopping such an attack for once.

“mass casualty event” at Tesla headquarters in Texas during a Cybertruck promotion attended by Elon Musk, prosecutors said.

The suspect also appeared to object to technology in modern life.

“I wanna die. My thoughts haven’t been free for over a year. All the electronics around me,” he wrote, according to the arrest warrant.

It doesn’t sound like he wanted to hurt Elon specifically and wanted to be stopped.

The event was attended by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, though he was not named as a specific target in the arrest warrant.

“But yeah so at teh (sic) Tesla event I’m planning to attach (sic) so up to you guys to stop me,” “I plan on killing people at that even (sic) ok (sic) November 30th and I would like you do something about it so I don’t have to” and “I wanna die.”

Sounds like he’s deeply unwell. Fingers crossed the judicial system actually manages to help him, though I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Dont you, like, have to pay MONEY to get helped? Is the US just gonna start “helping” folks with no expectation of exploitative profit? Does the criminal justice system at that level actually do any benefit to those captive, and do they receive REAL not insane therapy that isn’t just a giant tough love seminar they bill for?

Yeah, he traveled to Austin but police aren’t saying whether he had any weapons… At this point it sounds like he may have been attempting to provoke a “suicide by cop” scenario. But there’s not enough information to say that for sure. I’m just glad they caught the guy before he had the chance to carry out whatever he was actually there to do.
