In another thread someone suggested we resize the court first, as an incentive for Republican states to embrace regulation and pass the amendment. Still need the supermajority, but it’s a great carrot/stick approach to get the job done or at least leave us in a good spot for a while if they want to be stubborn.
Spot-on analysis!
We’re long overdue for a new reform party to run on few or single issue platforms, eg. to end FPTP and institute national ranked choice or star voting. They’d certainly be immune from corporate bribe money trying to drop these policies.
If they ran as independents to do just that, they’d have my vote. And it’s crazy enough it just might work.
We must defend the PPS! (Physical Psychological and Social) From benereal disease. OK Computor
What a nice thought, too bad Biden didn’t do anything over two years ago when it would have actually mattered.
Pretty sure there was another female agent who was covering him in front, so this meme seems a bit cherry picked
Democratic politicians feel this way because they are mostly friends with their colleagues across the aisle. They all eat at the same luncheons together, hang out at the same establishments in DC, attend the same fundraisers and lobbying events.
I think the voters tend to have a different point of view from those in DC. Consider that even Republican lawmakers were running for their life on Jan6. Dem voters are growing fatigued with the constant gaslighting from the establishment politicians, and hopefully soon might provide cause for their “elected representatives” to flee as well. At this point we’ve been left with painfully few alternatives.
Lastly just want to say I do agree with full treason charges for anyone involved with Jan6. Obstruction was a laughable wrist slap, this is far too serious for such measures. The rioters kind of had the right idea but for literally all of the wrong reasons. It’s tea party republicans all over again (which was funded by Koch bros of course). Instead of addressing this in a serious manner, Dems considered doing nothing at all for 2 years before they finally started bringing the wrong charges. Pathetic.
Found the guy from the video comments! Thank you for your service.
Why don’t we stop subsidizing fossil fuel companies to the tune of $1Trillion Anually, and instead put all of that money towards subsidizing purchases and further R&D of electric vehicles? Oil and Gas corporations could enjoy the competition of the free market, and we the people could get access to new EVs for under $10k out of pocket - it would be a win-win!
There’s an old adage in computing which really applies here:
Garbage in, garbage out.
😆
I’m in favor of “recall ‘em all”, this rule change could be just the ticket!
Yes, but agree with most of the other comments here. It should be lowered to 65-67 instead.
Addicted to the absurdly high amount of sugars and preservatives most likely.
Must be some kind of bully complex. He desperately wants to be seen as strong, but only ever comes across as cruel. As much as I love a good chuckle on Florida Mans, I feel for them that lil’ Ronda is still in power.
Classic Democrat maneuvre. Watch, they’ll also remove the filibuster right before getting voted out of office.
One of those UNRWA workers Israel claimed was Hamas is literally a retired US Marine general. Israel’s claims are absurd, they are committing a never ending stream of war crimes and atrocities, and it’s absolutely required we go beyond flowery language and strongly worded letters to put an end to their reprehensible actions.
Dems: “Help! We sent a letter with strongest possible wording, it wasn’t effective, and we’re all out of ideas!”
How many times do conservatives have to slap Dems in the face before realizing they aren’t good faith actors?! Genocide in the Middle East, murder for fun on the southern border…what a mess.
wrong, gross.
I invite you to consider Hillary stealing the nom from Bernie, Biden’s only campaign promise he followed through on being “nothing will fundamentally change” for his rich donors, or Pelosi consistently laughing off so much as a conversation about rampant congressional insider trading on the stock market.
Just because Republicans are open and proud about their corruption, doesn’t mean the 2nd party in a 2 party system isn’t also incredibly corrupt. Americans deserve better, and deserve actual representation in this alleged “democracy”
You’re right. It’s almost like we could benefit from some sort of…consumer financial protection bureau.
Joking aside, this is a hard problem to solve with multinational corporations running the show. I certainly don’t think we sufficiently regulate corps in the states, quite the opposite really - they buy politicians in a legalized bribery scheme we call “campaign finance donations,” and are never held accountable for this type of predatory behavior.
This problem is 10x worse on an international scale, no idea how to solve for it. Maybe something like the TPP could have helped but not sure.
