No. I don’t pay for a service that has ads. That’s what I just said. If they add ads, I cancel.

Regarding capitalism, in reality, it is the best system we’ve seen so far.
Yes, theoretically other systems could be better for the general public. But in reality, they never have been.
But they haven’t added unskippable unavoidable ads yet.
When/if they do, that’ll tell a story.
I do it every time I update. It was pretty straightforward last time.
That’s said, I really hope this new app doesn’t change something or force me to download it to get the same functionality I have now.
Yes and yes. I don’t install this shit and just install drivers directly from nvidias website without logging in.
In my opinion, where this “movement” failed was in the messaging.
“Stop Killing Games” is a great slogan written by a young person without much experience.
No company or government will pass a law that says, “you must indefinitely support every game you ever release”. Now, I understand that this isn’t what the group was calling for, but this is the message that comes across. Because of that, it immediately loses support from anyone in any type of software industry and likely many other industries as we know it isn’t realistic.
Unfortunately, it was originally seeded with people from the meta mod community in Reddit and so they brought all that with them.
Some discussions are awesome, but anything remotely controversial is a pure echo chamber and you’ll get shouted down if you dissent.
Why do these articles never have a screenshot of the change. So annoying.
You forgot to mention you use Arch, btw.
I’ve used both for years. iPhone is simply the better device compared to any Android phone I’ve tried, including Pixel and other high end phones.
iOS is a better OS for me. I’m a software eng, and so I’m able to do all sorts of things to androids, and some things to iOS, but at the end of the day I want my phone to work and that’s it. I don’t tinker in my free time because I tinker all day at work.
As others have mentioned, the Apple ecosystem is pretty fantastic.
Finally, I’d rather buy hardware/software from a hardware/software company than an advertising company.
Millennial Americans will cook, if it isnt too complicated.
GenZ Americans won’t cook unless it is putting something in the microwave.
And if you watch the matrix today for the first time, everything is cliche and done to death.
The reason for this is that every single action movie after the matrix has copied it. When it released, it blew people away. No one had seen anything like it. I remember going to see it after an event because of how much people wouldn’t stop talking about it. Even overhyped, I was blown away.
The Matrix defined action movies for a decade+
Lol. Fair point. I did not.
He would absolutely not be in a jumpsuit on the side of the road doing community service. He would be assigned 1000 hours and then “work” with a charity putting his “skills” to use.
I’m speaking from experience. I had 120 hrs of community service and I did computer work for a well known charity.
That is absolutely a solution. But what I’m talking about is a way to monetize while keeping the service free but without showing ads.
This is the billion dollar idea. If not trillion.
This just in, people don’t like ads. At all. Most people.
It is time to find a new business model that works. I’m not smart enough to know what that is so that you don’t piss off users, but whoever figures it out will be a billionaire.
Wealth displays on social media
Crazy idea, so just hear me out.
What if we all just avoided those shitty apps?
100% agreed. Please and thank you are standard. Pleasant tone and asking to work together rather than giving commands is also.
It takes so very little extra effort to be nice.
Understood.
Please cite, with examples from reality, better systems.
