    Yemen on the other hand has a population of about 33 million, and the war has lasted for 9 years, killing 400 thousand people, putting the rough annualized rate at 0.2% of the population per year

    Though equating it to the holocaust is still hyperbole. The nazis did several massacres in which they killed over half the jewish populations of certain cities, usually more than 20 thousand, often in a single day. (example is Kamianets-Podilskyi massacre) They only slowed down because the method of mass execution by shooting was deemed to be “too difficult”
