I don’t see them on my client, but I remember I set one up on web when I first opened my account.
Well, here’s how yours looks on my client:

It’s the main way I recognise regular posters
And that’s why I’ll never add one.
That seems short sighted, for example the very popular voyager client doesn’t show any profile pictures. I wasn’t even aware those are a thing. I dont want one either though.
It’s just easier to notice than a name, but some users have eye catching names too, some use emojis for example.
It seems like a lot of ppl don’t know that haha

What I really need is a huge “signature” panel under every comment I make.
Every once in awhile I visit an old forum that allowed obnoxiously long signatures with huge banners and gifs in them. I won’t miss that.
