Based on my understanding of non-religiously biased history, the character of Jesus Christ is an amalgamation of many Jewish prophets who preached a generally similar message.

And if you wait for a pause to interject, you’ll also not be paying attention to anything else they say because you’re focused on what you have to say.
In general we all need to slow down when speaking and give lots more room for others to speak.
True. What the image should say is Capitalism is hell for autistic people. And non-autistic people. And all other people. Capitalism is really only not hell for those born wealthy.
If it’s an important phone call I usually ask the other person to email me with all the details we talked about. I usually make up some excuse about being out running errands so I can’t take notes but it’s 95% that their phone call woke me up and 100% that I don’t ever remember anything said in a phone call.
I adapted the spoons explanation to DnD spell slots. Some days I get high level spell slots, some days I have a bunch of low level slots, and some days just casting cantrips is the best I can do.
Shame on that man, doesn’t he know it’s of vital importance to the environment to put recyclables in a separate dumpster that gets picked up by the same garbage truck before getting dumped in the same landfill? Being separated from the garbage for a few days is the only thing keeping climate change at bay!
Then the users would complain that they can’t fit the tag in their water.
That’s why it’s the best term to use against these people. People who are “good weird” accept it. “Bad weird” people are bothered by it. There are probably better words to describe these people but weird is working.
It said MSNBC had a leftist bias. The bot, and by extension its developers, have as much credibility as your Fox News watching uncle who calls everything they don’t like “communism”.
If they’re going to be gouging us on price the least they can do is employ people.
Costco only has their gas stations open during the day, and I rarely have the time to waste a half hour getting a tank.
Yeah they should be following the law. But the laws also have to be changed because a lot of exploitative practices are legal.
Religion has been behind so much discrimination over the centuries. I, as a leftist, will never care to not offend religion.
Also I’m very strongly of the opinion that being a leftist is about ending capitalism. The acceptance/bigotry spectrum is a different axis. And while ending bigotry is an important fight, it’s a separate one from ending capitalism.
Not the person you responded to but I have a similar plan for a company. The one hole I have a solution for I believe should be adopted by all companies: if it’s a job that isn’t your core focus, outsource. Everything from bookkeeping to janitorial staff should be an outside company (with your same ethics). I dream of a world where everyone is self-employed or part of small co-ops, and not one single company expands vertically or horizontally. Pick one thing you’re good at and do that one thing well. Everything else, give that labor to someone else. I’m looking at you, Amazon.
Yes, the used car market is full of predators charging 200% more than what a junker is worth because there’s nothing stopping them. And I also agree that keeping the minimum wage literal decades behind productivity breeds an environment where people are assigned a made up number that tells banks it’s ok to gouge this person on interest rates. Full agreement with you there.
You can be validly left without wanting revolution, as long as you’re ok with progress happening over the course of centuries (in a world that has about 25 years left before the majority of us are dead from man-made climate change).
Country singers are the only ones left with who are willing to sing the national anthem.
It should be of little surprise (and much more widespread knowledge) that just about everyone with money in the 1930s financially supported the actual Nazi party, including but not limited to Henry Ford and George W Bush’s grandfather.
I actually disagree with the meme; capitalism is always fascism, just sometimes has a better PR team.
100% agree with you. Also not relevant to this thread.
All the comments saying it’s a distraction from how the working class is being oppressed by the owner class are right, but also…
There have always been bigots, small town small minded people who don’t “know any gay people” but there was that one skinny boy in their class that didn’t like sports so he was bullied until he left town at 18. And now, that generation of bigots is finally dying out. Not only due to age but due to an increased connection with the greater world. A small town bigot might not know any LGBT people personally but they are aware of their existence, due to television and the Internet. So quietly ignoring people who are different than you doesn’t work anymore. And a dying animal fights harder than ever.
These death throes are useful to the owner class. But they are still dying out. And if we can exterminate capitalism and figure out a way to survive in a post-warmed globe, we might just see the end of (this particular type) of bigotry.
